Impersonation

Same Name, Different People

Look for me online for long enough and you will run into six names that are not me. Three are Instagram accounts that use my name with a small change. One is a YouTube channel. One is a real person who happens to own, on Instagram, a handle I use elsewhere. And one is an actress whose name sits very close to mine in a search box. They are different situations and they deserve different answers, so I want to go through them one at a time.

The short version never changes: my accounts are the seven on my official links page, and nothing else.

The copies on Instagram

My Instagram is @alexandramarianna: my name as one word, nothing added. These accounts are not mine:

Each one is a single character away from the real handle, which is exactly why they are easy to fall for. In a list of search results they look like typos, or like a second account I might reasonably have. I don’t run any of them. I’m not linking them here on purpose, because a link would only send them more visitors. If one of them messages you, or turns up in a comment section under my name, the steps at the end of this post apply.

The same goes for anything that describes itself as my backup, my second page or my new account. If it isn’t on the links page, it isn’t run by me.

The YouTube channel

There is a channel on YouTube at @alexandramarianna8299 that uses my name. It is not mine. No YouTube channel appears on my official list, so a channel under my name is not a reliable way to find me, whatever it posts. If you are looking for my videos, they are on my TikTok and my Instagram.

@alexmarianna on Instagram is a real, different person

This is the one I most want to get right. My handle on TikTok and Link.me is alexmarianna. On Instagram, that same handle belongs to someone else. They are a separate person with their own account and their own name, they are not pretending to be me, and they have nothing to do with my work.

It is an easy mistake to make. If you know me from TikTok, the obvious thing is to type my TikTok handle into Instagram, and you end up on their profile instead of mine. Please don’t send them messages meant for me, don’t leave comments asking where I am, and don’t report them. They haven’t done anything wrong. On Instagram I am @alexandramarianna, and you can get there in one click from my links page.

Sharing a handle with somebody is not the same as being impersonated by them.

Marianna Alexandre

If you searched for “Alex Marianna”, the first result may well have been Marianna Alexandre, a Brazilian actress and singer. She is a different person. I have no connection to her or her work, and none of her credits are mine. The names just happen to land close together in a search box. I’m mentioning her only so that nobody confuses the two of us, and I won’t be adding anything about her here.

How to tell, every time

Most of the mix-ups above come from the same thing: my handles are not the same on every platform. I am alexandramarianna on Instagram, aleximarianna on X and Snapchat, alexmarianna on TikTok and Link.me, waitwhosari on Telegram and whosari1414 on OnlyFans. Once you know that, most lookalikes are easy to spot. A few habits help:

If you find a copy, report it to the platform as impersonation and point them at this site or my official statement. There is more on that, including the full list of exact handles, on the verify page, and every real account is described one by one in Every Account That Is Really Me.

Thank you for checking. It takes ten seconds, and it is the best defence there is against someone using a name that isn’t theirs.
